Technical safeguards allow only the authorized to access electronic protected health data. Access control includes unique user IDs, an emergency access procedure, automatic log off, encryption and decryption.
Network (or transmission) Security
HIPAA compliant hosts must protect against unauthorized public access of protected health information. This concerns all methods of transmitting data, whether it is email, phone, Internet, etc. SSL/TLS certificates on our servers encrypt data to and from users in the application to keep data secure.
